The project involves the expansion of the Viganello elementary school, with the goal of creating space for a cafeteria and an after-school classroom for approximately 100 children.

The project expands a 1974 building by architect Sergio Pagnamenta with a roof extension. This lightweight element, a finale or crowning element, allows for a relationship, both compositionally and in terms of color and material, with the school building on which it rests.

It consists of a structural framework that defines the formal appearance of the façade and a heated space set back from the perimeter, defining two zones that reflect the rhythm and layout of the floors below: a south-facing area designated as a green terrace and a covered space to the west connected to the modular after-school room.
