The project defines the school complex of Lugano-Cadro through the new Kindergarten and the extension of the existing elementary school. The design interprets the neighborhood as a composition of three parallel zones: sports, elementary school, and kindergarten. The insertion of the new volume, in dialogue and continuity with the existing buildings, creates two new open spaces: a public plaza serving as the entrance to the elementary school, and a fenced garden for the exclusive use of the kindergarten. Though internally connected, the two schools remain functionally independent. The new kindergarten is organized on two levels: entrance halls and dining areas on the ground floor, with classrooms and activity spaces on the upper floor, opening visually onto the surrounding landscape.
