Molino Nuovo kindergarten

The preschool project proposes a larger intervention to reorganise the public spaces in the Molino Nuovo district. The intervention defines a new large unified public space that includes generous play and leisure areas in a dense and heterogeneous context. This is connected by a pedestrian and bicycle path to the city's other public parks that are designed around significant buildings. By analogy, the project retains the building of the former “Bossi” lazaretto to house neighbourhood associations in the future. The need to contain the building's footprint to free up public land has resulted in a compact school typology developed on three levels.
