Open House +
Tailor-made Architours - Architecture all year round
Open House Plus is a project promoted by the Open House Ticino Association that offers tailor-made Architours throughout the year, exploring the architecture, history and landscape of Ticino. Architours are guided tours built to measure, designed for groups, schools, associations, companies and visitors who wish to explore a theme, a place or a particular aspect of the region's architecture.
The routes may lead inside prestigious buildings, often not normally open to the public, or cross neighbourhoods and areas to tell the story of their urban and architectural evolution. Where possible, the visits are led by architects, designers and expert guides, who make it possible to learn not only about the buildings, but also about the stories, transformations and ideas that gave rise to them. Each Architour is designed around the interests of the group and can combine different buildings, spaces, itineraries and themes: from historic residences to contemporary architecture, from construction details to urban and landscape transformations.
Open House Plus thus turns a simple walk into an experience of discovery, offering the opportunity to engage with the built heritage and to look with fresh eyes at the places around us. The project contributes to the promotion and transmission of Ticino's architectural culture, creating new opportunities for encounters between citizens, professionals, institutions and visitors, and encouraging a careful, high-quality enjoyment of the territory.
The Architours of Open House Ticino 2026
On the occasion of the 2026 edition of Open House Ticino, two Architours are already scheduled, both on Saturday 24 October in the afternoon: Riva San Vitale – a route exploring the architecture and history of the village. Biasca – an itinerary dedicated to the architecture and transformations of the territory. For times, itineraries and participation details, see the full Open House Ticino 2026 programme.
