Parco Pico is a renovation of an existing under-utilized and run-down neighborhood playground in Cassarate, Lugano. The new park seeks to create an active and engaging play atmosphere with opportunities for discovery and development. The park features a new canyon made from reclaimed concrete slabs which create a climbing wall and a play fountain. Spanning the fountain is a suspension bridge which leads to a hilltop lookout. The canyon opens onto the central play area which includes the swing oval and the slide tower. A dog park further activates the park and makes it a meeting point for all ages within the neighborhood.

The vegetation is selected to bring biodiversity into the urban environment. Raingardens are used to filter and slowly release all of the local water runoff, while providing seasonal planting interest.
