The project converted a historic building located in Lugano into a contemporary architectural atelier, inspired by the principle of Weiterbauen - an approach that enhances the dialogue between the memory of the past and the needs of the present. The intervention has re-functionalised a 1930s volume by placing the inner courtyard, now a true urban green oasis, at the centre.

The entrance to the studio is symbolically marked by the presence of a tree, while the portico above the access staircase acts as a filter between the street and the operational areas.

At the back, a second green courtyard, more intimate and silent, gives life to a further micro-ecosystem. The ground floor is dedicated to meeting areas while the upper floors open-plan workspaces. The top floor hosts two further open green courtyards that enrich the working experience with glimpses of nature and light.
