New Municipal Building of Losone
Baserga Mozzetti Architects with Pedrazzini Guidotti Engineers, 2019–2025
The project interprets the new public building as an element that reconnects the Church of San Rocco, the existing Municipal Building and the former kindergarten. A compact and distinctive volume faces the new square through a large portico, defining a public space designed to accommodate both everyday life and events. The landscaping transforms the existing road into an urban route, restoring continuity to the area.
Inside, a clear layout separates the public spaces from the offices and institutional rooms. The character of the building derives from its structure: nine reinforced-concrete columns and a system of beams support coffered floor slabs, making the construction itself an integral part of the architectural expression.
