Casa in Viganello
Franco Ponti and Milo Navone, 1976 - 1977
On a sloping plot shaped like an elongated triangle, bounded along its longer sides by two streets, Franco Ponti and Milo Navone, partners in the Ponti e Navone studio from 1969 to 1981, designed a small house that skilfully interprets the constraints imposed by the site and the available resources, to offer domestic spaces of surprising generosity, intimate and welcoming and at the same time projected towards the small garden and the urban landscape below. The architects' design governs and harmonises building and furnishings, fixed and movable, in the spirit of Frank Lloyd Wright, whom they regarded with boundless admiration, and the care for construction details extends to and ennobles even the smallest particulars.
