Nosedo School Complex
CdL Durisch Nolli – Giraudi Radczuweit architects, 2007 - 2017
The complex consists of two architectural volumes integrated into the surrounding greenery and public spaces.
The classroom building, an example of mature modernism, was renovated while preserving its essential character and extended. Its exposed structure was enhanced through the sequential rhythm of its constituent elements, while the classrooms were enlarged into the internal patios, which had become obsolete over time.
Alongside it, new sports and recreational facilities were introduced as open spaces between horizontal planes following the natural contours of the site and its network of paths. The double gymnasium, the largest space, is set into the ground, with the canteen located on the level above.
The new spaces are designed for flexible use, serving not only the school but also providing places for community gatherings.
