Villa Pontiggia
Orfeo Amadò, XX secolo
The settings of Villa Pontiggia, the historical residence from the late 19th century, preserve furnishings, personal effects and collections that bear witness to the aesthetic sensibilities of those who once lived there. The Villa and its botanical park, are presented to the public as a house-museum – a place that houses exquisite objects, bearing witness to ancient cultures.
The spaces also house a collection of contemporary artworks by the artist Giuliano Vangi, which has been integrated into the setting whilst respecting its balance and harmony, in dialogue with the spaces and the surrounding natural environment.
The botanical park frames Villa Pontiggia and is striking for its lush vegetation, where subtropical flora and centuries-old trees grow side by side. Set within this magnificent natural backdrop is the wooden pavilion designed by the architect Mario Botta.
Villa Pontiggia’s exhibitions trace the history of an artistic collaboration that blossomed into a deep friendship.
