Casa Beheim
Livio Vacchini Architect, 1961 - 1962
Built in Solduno between 1961 and 1962, Casa Beheim belongs to the first phase of Livio Vacchini's architectural research. It is one of the first single-family houses designed by the Ticino architect, before his collaboration with Luigi Snozzi and the emergence of his research on the relationship between structure, geometry and space.
The building bears witness to Vacchini's interest in a rigorous and essential modern architecture, in which the definition of domestic space arises from the relationship between form, structure and context. The house thus belongs to the early season of post-war Ticino architecture, contributing to the research that would lead Vacchini to develop a personal interpretation of modern rationalism.
