Casa Stolz
Pietro Stolz Architect, ca. 1998
In the hamlet of Avegno di Fuori, at Via In di Soarbill 24, stands the house currently inhabited by Pietro Stolz and his wife. Built in the late 1990s, the house reflects a very different period in Stolz’s architecture. Several elements from his earlier work reappear, such as the relative structural simplicity and the ability to create generous volumes that can be interpreted and adapted by their occupants. New features include the double- and triple-height spaces at the centre of the building and the skilful use of natural light. Today, at the age of 93, Pietro Stolz also works as an artist and has transformed his former architectural studio and other areas of the house into his atelier. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover the continuous echoes and connections between his artistic and architectural work.
